1. What is SQUISH?
SQUISH is a single app that lets you communicate, play mobile games and share life’s special moments with your friends using different mobile phones.
2. How much is the Squish application?
SQUISH app is FREE!
3. How do I get the SQUISH application?
There are two ways to do this:
- Text SQUISH to 2910 or 2662. Then, click the link that comes with the reply message.
- Download the application from m.globe. To access m.globe, text M.GLOBE to 2910 or open your phone browser and type http://m.globe.com.ph. Once in the site, look for the download link for SQUISH under WHAT’S ON category.
SQUISH app will also be available on Andoid Market, iTunes, Nokia OVI and Blackberry App World. But please note that these external sites are subject to standard browsing charges.
4. How much is the access to use SQUISH?
A promotional/trial period of 30 days is given to new SQUISH users. It starts from the first use of the service. Note that a user can avail of the 30-day trial only once.
5. Until when is the promo or trial period?
It’s until December 31, 2011 (subject to automatic extension).
6. What happens after the 30-day promo/trial period?
You’ll need to register to one of the four SQUISH plans:
- P15 – 1 day unlimited access
- P30 – 3 days unlimited access (initially offered for special weekend competition)
- P50 – 5 days unlimited access
- P100 – 30 days unlimited access
Note: Subscriber should use myGlobe Connect (access point) to avoid additional browsing charges.
7. Is SQUISH available to Postpaid, GHP Prepaid and TM?
SQUISH is initially available to GHP Prepaid and TM. But we’re working to make SQUISH available to Postpaid soon.
8. What mobile phones do SQUISH support?
It works on Java phone, Android, Symbian, iPhone and BlackBerry with Windows Phone coming soon.
9. What are those four tabs that I see on the interface?
- Updates Tab
It shows the latest Facebook post, Twitter tweets, shared photos, activities and latest comments from your friends. You’ll find what your friends are up to and when they post new pictures or update their status. You can “like” and comment on them instantly on mobile. (Scroll below for more info on Updates Tab.)
- Chats Tab
It enables you to have all IMs all in one place. This tab supports the major IM networks: Yahoo, MSN, Facebook Chat and Gtalk. A single sign-in enables you to sign in to all your IM accounts concurrently, showing everything on a single page. The convenience of everything on hand reduces the hassle in switching from IM to IM, so you can chat or message friends easily through a simple interface. If a friend isn’t on SQUISH, you can easily send invitations through various channels to get them to join you on SQUISH. (Scroll below for more info on Chats Tab.)
- Services Tab
This is where you can play social games, participate in discussions, vote in polls, chat in chat rooms and do much more. It’s the doorway to mobile entertainment and fun. Plus, this tab keeps the user busy, socially interacting with friends on SQUISH. (Scroll below for more info on Services Tab.)
- Me Tab
This is your Homepage. It displays your name card where you can update your profile, view notifications from friends, change general or privacy settings and view other services such as “friends,” “message” and “photos” that are offered in this tab. (Scroll below for more info on Me Tab.)
10. I’ve installed this app. What’s next?
There are several things that we recommend for you to get the best out of SQUISH:
- Add Facebook or Twitter to unite your social life in one place.
- Go to “Chat”, click “Menu” and “Manage Accounts.” Add your MSN, GTalk, Yahoo! Messenger or Facebook chat.
- Go to “Services” to try the games. Or, click “Circle” to check the biggest talk in town or receive RSS for the latest news. Or, visit the chatrooms and chat with friends or users in SQUISH.
- Add friends recommended by SQUISH or invite a friend to join in the fun with you!
Once you’ve added your friends, go to your “Me” tab to upload your profile picture so your friends will be able to recognize you easily when receiving your invites or visiting your profile. Click “Edit My Profile” to take a photo or choose an existing photo from your phone’s album to set it as your profile picture. Enter your name and any other info that you may want to share.
11. I’ve added my IM accounts and updated my profile. What do I do next?
Have you added your Facebook or Twitter account? If not, add it now so that you can keep yourself up to date with the activities on your Facebook and Twitter. Go to “Updates” and click “Menu”. Click “Facebook” or “Twitter” and click “Add”. Enter your login email/username and password. Make sure that the “Publish my status” field is checked so even your own updates are reflected in the “Updates” tab. Once all is done, SQUISH will update you on the posting and events from it.
12. Can I use SQUISH and at the same time make and receive phone calls?
Yes. When you have an incoming call, you can answer it and the application will be hidden. When you finished your call, you’ll be directed to SQUISH.
13. I can’t log in. I keep seeing “Unable to connect to the server. Please check your network connection.” What seems to be the problem?
Please make sure that your phone has mobile network signal and data service coverage. To test it, start your phone internet browser and check whether you’re able to connect to the internet. If you can’t, you can either move to a place with network coverage or you can contact the operator support for assistance.
14. What's a PIN?
A PIN is a unique number issued to you as your private ID. You can tell your SQUISH friends to add you by your PIN if you don’t want them to know your phone number.
15. I want another account. How do I get this?
Each mobile number will have only one account. In order to get multiple accounts, you’ll need to have multiple SIM cards and phones.
Updates Tab
1. What services does Updates Tab provide?
This tab allows you to post your status and photos. You can also see your friends' updates when they post new pictures or update their status, so you can "like" and comment on them immediately.
2. What kind of updates can I see in the Updates Tab?
It contains your recent updates and friends'. The events include: Photo uploaded, Friend relationship establishment, Polls, Facebook activities, Poke, Groups, Games and all other kinds of friends' events.
3. How can I upload new photos to SQUISH?
On Updates Tab, you'll find a Camera icon at the top that has the "Photo" text next to it. Click the icon and you'll see a pop-up with "Take Photo" and "Select a File."
If you choose "Select a File":
- Select from either the memory card directory or phone memory directory.
- Browse and select the image that you like.
- The selected image will be uploaded to the application and posted to SQUISH.
If you choose "Take Photo":
- Ensure that your camera is switched on and then take your photo.
- The SQUISH will take you to the preview screen.
- Select "use photo" to set the image as your profile photo.
- The taken image will be immediately posted to SQUISH.
- The new image will be added to your SQUISH photo album.
4. How do I update my Facebook and Twitter?
Go to "Updates" and click the "Status" button. Compose your message and press "Done." You'll see your latest status in the Updates Tab. If you're connected to your Facebook or Twitter account, this will automatically be posted on your Facebook and/or Twitter.
5. How do I comment on or "like" my friend's update or photo?
On Updates Tab, you can comment on your friends' posts, tweets and photos. The feed is a short summary of the entire post. Click it to view the entire post, photo or activity. You can "like," comment or chat with your friend.
6. How do I post my updates or status to SQUISH, Facebook and Twitter?
On Updates Tab, click the "Status" button and enter the status that you want. Then, click "Update." Your post will be updated to SQUISH, Facebook & Twitter at the same time.
7. How do I add Facebook and/or Twitter to SQUISH?
You can add Facebook and/or Twitter from the Updates Tab. Click the menu button and you'll see Facebook and Twitter options. Follow the instructions and you account will be linked to SQUISH.
8. How do I remove Facebook/Twitter from SQUISH?
You can remove Facebook/Twitter from the Updates Tab by clicking the menu button. Follow the instructions to remove your Facebook/Twitter account from SQUISH.
Chats Tab
1. What services does Chats Tab provide?
The Chats Tab allows you to view and interact with your friends who are on SQUISH and third-party IM networks that you've added to your SQUISH account. Here, you can also create and join group chats.
2. How do I start a private chat with my friends in Tab 2?
To interact with a friend, click your friend's nickname and you can start to message your friend.
3. How do I add a friend?
In your Chats Tab, click "Add Friend" on the page. You can add your friend by entering his/her mobile number, PIN or name. You can also invite a friend via SMS or email.
4. How do I add a friend by PIN in Chats Tab?
If you know your friend's PIN and wants to add a friend by PIN, click "Add Friend" and "Add by PIN," and enter your friend's PIN.
5. How do I add a third-party IM account in Chats Tab?
You can add third-party IM networks such as Yahoo, Facebook and others by clicking the menu button followed by "Manage Accounts."
   a. Click "Add Account."
   b. Click the account type you want to add.
   c. Enter your login information.
   d. Click "Add Account."
6. How do I send files to my friends in Chats Tab?
To send a file to a friend you're interacting with, press the Menu button on your phone and click "Send a File." Then, click the file type and select the file you want to send.
7. What other things can I do when chatting with friends?
When chatting, you may also do following actions:
- Ping – You can send your friend a ping by clicking "Ping." This action will let you get your friend's attention.
- Broadcast – It allows you to send the same message to multiple friends. To send a broadcast, click "Menu" and click "Broadcast." Then, type your message, select the friends you'd like to send your broadcast to and click "Send."
- Group Chat – Choose "Start Group Chat" on the menu, select friends that you want to chat with and click "OK." A group will generate, which will allow you to chat by group.
8. What do S, D and R mean? I keep seeing these letters while chatting.
The S, D and R beside your chat bubble represent whether your message has already been Sent, Delivered and Read by your friend. You can even know when he/she is typing back so you can wait for his/her response.
9. How do I send photos on mobile?
While chatting, click "Menu" and "Send a Picture." You can either take a new photo or choose an existing one from your phone's album. Click "Use Photo" to send the photo.
Services Tab
1. What kind of services does Services Tab provide?
This tab lists all games and applications that are available to the user.
2. How do I start playing games?
Go to "Services" tab and choose a game that interests you.
3. Besides games, what other apps does SQUISH offer?
Going to Services Tab, you can widen your circle of friends by joining a Chatroom, participating in a Poll, checking out the latest news from RSS channels or discussing topics and gossips with other users in Circles. You can also back up your contacts through Contacts Backup so you'll never lose them again.
4. What is "Chatroom"?
A "Chatroom" is a place where you can chat with other users in SQUISH. When you send any chat message, it'll be published in the current room that you're in. There will be other users in the chatroom and you'll see messages posted by these users.
5. I entered a chatroom once and was banned from it. What happened?
Chances are the members of that chatroom have voted to remove you. There are several factors on how a member gets voted off like bad behavior, using foul language, using discriminatory or derogatory remarks or simply being offensive. If you think that you don't deserve to be kicked out from the room, send a message to the owner of the chatroom or report to admin. You can check who the owner of the room is when you click "Menu" and then "Room Info."
Me Tab
1. What services does Me Tab provide?
The Me Tab is all about you. You can access your notifications, friends list, messages, photos and more through this tab. Here, you can also view your PIN on your profile page and share it with your friends.
2. How can I change my existing profile image from my phone memory?
   a. In Me Tab, click your avatar and go to My Profile page.
   b. Click your avatars again. SQUISH will alert you with two options.
   c. Click "Select a file." You can see memory card directory and phone memory directory.
   d. Browse to where your image is located.
   e. Select the image and SQUISH will direct you to the preview screen.
   f. Choose "Use file" to use the image as profile image.
3. How can I change my profile image into my mobile camera snapshot?
   a. In Me Tab, click your avatar and go to My Profile page.
   b. Click your avatars again. SQUISH will alert you with two options.
   c. Choose "Take a snapshot."
   d. Make sure your mobile camera is on and then take your snapshot.
   e. SQUISH will take you to the preview screen.
   f. Choose "Use photo" to use the image as profile photo.
4. How can I change my name?
   a. In Me Tab, click your avatar and go to My Profile page.
   b. Choose Name option.
   c. Enter your new Name and save it.
5. Will everyone see my photos? Can I hide them?
Yes, you can hide them by editing your profile:
   a. In Me Tab, click "Privacy Settings" option.
   b. Select "My Events Privacy" and three options will be shown to you.
- Choose "Only friends" if you want to show your photos and sayings, profile etc. to your friends only.
- Choose "To public" if you want to open to everyone.
- Choose "only myself" if you want to hide from everyone.
6. Is it free to send messages to my friends?
Yes, sending real-time messages to your friends who are using this app is free.
7. There are other users, who are not my friends, who comment on my photos. How can I filter what they see?
Make sure that your account is set to private. This can be adjusted by following these steps:
   a. In Me Tab, click "Privacy Settings" option.
   b. Set your Events, Account, Phone and Email to "Only Friends" or "Only Myself" if you want to keep your account details private.
8. I saw a disgusting photo. How do I report it?
When you're viewing the photo, you can scroll down until you find the link of reporting abuse. Click it, SQUISH will alert you (You want to report this photo?), choose "Yes" and it'll be reported.
9. What is Poke?
Poke is like MSN (messenger) Nudge. You can use it to alert your friend that you want to talk to him/her.
