1. What is BB Chat?

BB Chat allows subscribers to enjoy unlimited BlackBerry^® Messenger (BBM) and FREE 200 SMS to Globe and TM subscribers for only P99 for 30 days for Postpaid subscribers. Prepaid subscribers can avail of 1 day BB Chat with unlimited BBM and 100 SMS to Globe and TM subscribers valid for 1 day for only P15/day.

Mobile Browsing is NOT allowed while subscribed to BB Chat except if you use WiFi (Hotspot Browser). Should you want unlimited surfing and unlimited use of BlackBerry^® services, unsubscribe from BB Chat first then register to BB MAX.

2. Who can avail of BB Chat?

Globe Postpaid subscribers can avail of the 30-day variant, while Prepaid subscribers can avail of the 1-day variant. Subscribers must not have an existing data service, i.e. BBMAX, if they want to register to BB Chat.

3. Is the 30-day variant of BB Chat available to all Globe Postpaid subscribers?

Subscribers with any Globe Postpaid Plan, My Super Plan, or My Fully Loaded Plan powered by a BlackBerry^® handset or a BlackBerry^® -connect handset can avail of this offer except for subscribers of the following:

a. Extension Plans
a. Load Tipid Plans
b. Load Allowance Plans
b. iPhone Plans
c. Globe Broadband Tattoo Plans

Subscribers who currently have other data add-on plans may avail of BB Social, provided that they terminate their existing add-on plan first before subscribing to BB Chat. These include subscribers with the following add-on plans:

a. Mobile Surfing Plans
b. Personal BlackBerry^® Add-on Plans

Postpaid subscribers:

To register to BB Chat, text BB CHAT ON to 8888.

P99 will be charged on top of Postpaid subscribers’ MSF.

Prepaid subscribers:

To register to BB Chat 1 day, text BBCHAT15 to 8888.

P15 will be deducted from Prepaid subscribers’ load.

6. Does BB Chat auto-renew when the service expires?

BB Chat auto-renews only for Globe Postpaid subscribers. They are informed 3 hours prior to service expiry to remind them to unsubscribe from the service if they do not want to continue the subscription.

7. What is the difference between BlackBerry Chat and other BlackBerry^® Plans? What should I get as a plan?

BlackBerry Chat offers only basic BlackBerry^® Messenger. It does not offer subscribers the full range of BlackBerry^® services.

For subscribers who want the full use of their BlackBerry^®, they should subscribe to BB MAX. Please see table below:

1. After subscribing / accepting, how will I be sure that I am enrolled in BB Chat?

You will be sent an SMS confirmation that contains basic terms and conditions of the service. Service is activated once the SMS confirmation is received.

1. How do I terminate my BB Chat subscription?

You can terminate your BB Chat subscription by texting BB CHAT OFF to 8888.

2. Do I need to be on KB-based browsing to register to the service?

No, you do not need to be on KB-based browsing to register.

3. I want to surf the internet using my phone. Can I do mobile browsing on BB Chat?

No, Mobile Browsing is currently not allowed if you are on BB Chat. However, you can still surf the internet using WiFi (Hotspot Browser).

If you want to have Social Networking, Email, BBM, IM plus Surfing, register to BBMAX.

4. Can I subscribe to BB Social and BlackBerry^® Enterprise Service (BES) or BES Express?

No, BB Chat will not work with BES or BES Express.

5. I used to be a BB MAX subscriber. I used to have a WAP and Internet Browser. Now it is gone. What happened to it?

When you subscribed to BB Chat, these browsers were hidden. When your subscription to BB Chat ends, your browsers will return.

1. I used to be a SuperSurf for BlackBerry^®/BB MAX/BlackBerry^® plan subscriber. What will happen to my existing applications?

Your applications will still be present on your device. But other than Instant Messaging and Social Networking applications, other applications requiring internet access will no longer work.

2. I have a BlackBerry^® Connect phone (e.g. Sony Ericsson P9, HTC Tytn). Can I subscribe to BB Chat?

Yes, but it is not recommended since BlackBerry^®Connect 4.0 does not support Instant Messaging and BlackBerry^® Messenger. This is not limited to BB Chat. It is consistent with using BlackBerry^® Connect on any service plan.

These terms and conditions shall govern the relationship between Globe Telecom and the user of the BB Chat service.

• Service is available to all Globe Postpaid and Globe Prepaid subscribers using a BlackBerry® smartphone only.
• The unlimited data allocation covers the BlackBerry® Messenger service only.
• All other Internet-related services not mentioned above (such as, but not limited to, Internet browsing, social networking applications, and push email) are not covered by this service.
• The unlimited data allocation covers local use only. User will incur additional charges upon use of this service in other countries while on roaming. Roaming rates will vary per country and per carrier. Globe requires user to stop/turn off the service prior to departure from the Philippines to ensure that no BB Chat charges will be incurred while roaming.
• Any free SMS or voice calls allocation that comes with this service only covers local SMS or voice calls to Globe or TM.
• Prepaid subscribers must have PhP1 in airtime credits to use this service.
• Postpaid subscribers are subject to standard credit policies concerning account redirection, suspension or disconnection in relation to use of this service.
• Globe reserves the right to terminate the service in cases involving fraud.
