PowerSurf Postpaid

Surf the way you want with PowerSurf!
Choose from the most competitive MB plans on the market and experience the most affordable way to browse on your handset. For only P99, Globe PowerSurf lets you enjoy 1,200 Google searches, 1,600 Tweets, 250 photo uploads, or 25 videos every month!
Afraid that you'll go over your MBs and get wiped out by a tsunami of data charges? Don't worry about it because as long as you stay subscribed to PowerSurf, you'll NEVER pay more than P999 for data each month. Even if you accidentally go over your MBs and rack up a big wave of charges, the most you'll ever pay is the price of SuperSurf.

As Globe recently enhanced existing Postpaid PowerSurf promos with a NEW P999 Bill Cap, Globe will wipe all data charges above P999 for Postpaid subscribers that registered to PowerSurf at the time of the bill run.
This bill cap will only apply to charges incurred after subscribing to PowerSurf, meaning that all usage before registering to PowerSurf will still be charged. Since this is applied at the end of the month, heavy-data users may encounter temporary stops in service if they accumulate charges that exceed their credit limit. If you’re a high-usage subscriber, you may subscribe to SuperSurf to ensure that you don’t experience loss of service.

PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
1. What is Globe Postpaid PowerSurf?
Postpaid PowerSurf is a mobile internet service that gives Globe Postpaid subscribers bulk megabytes (MB) of mobile data, which is consumable per kilobyte (kb) and valid for 30 days. It is the best way to be ON anytime, because a subscriber will only pay for the actual data that he/she uses. This means subscribers can comfortably leave their data connection enabled and enjoy features like push notifications or background syncing without accumulating an expensive bill.
PowerSurf is available in three denominations:
| Denomination | Price | MB Allocation | Validity | How to Activate |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| PowerSurf 99 | P99 | 50 MB | 30 days | Text POWERSURF 99 to 8888 |
| PowerSurf 299 | P299 | 300 MB | 30 days | Text POWERSURF 299 to 8888 |
| PowerSurf 499 | P499 | 1 GB | 30 days | Text POWERSURF 499 to 8888 |
2. What happens when I use up my MBs?
Within 24 hours of exhausting all PowerSurf MBs, Globe will send you an SMS notification explaining that you have exceeded their PowerSurf subscription. You may continue to use the internet, but will be charged at your given default time- or volume-based charging rate and will be charged for this usage on top of the cost of the PowerSurf promo. However, you can now browse with greater peace of mind because of the new P999 bill cap. So long as you remain subscribed to PowerSurf, your total monthly GPRS spend will never be more than P999.
3. How does the P999 bill cap work?
All data charges incurred after subscribing to PowerSurf will be summed up and billed to the subscriber unless the sum of these charges exceeds P999. If the sum of the charges exceeds P999, Globe will wipe all charges in excess of P999 and essentially consider this usage unlimited.
With this policy, if a subscriber availed of PowerSurf 299, accidentally exceeded 300 MB of data and accrued P75 in additional charges, he/she would pay P374 in data charges for the month. If, however, this same subscriber availed of PowerSurf 299, accidentally exceeded 300 MB of usage, and accrued P1075 in additional charges, he/she would pay P999 in data charges for the month, inclusive of the cost of the PowerSurf subscription. Put differently, if a subscriber accumulates more than P999 in data charges, Globe will essentially provision that customer a SuperSurf plan for the month.
4. How much data do I use when I use the internet on my phone?
Data usage greatly depends on each subscriber’s phone. Smartphones like the iPhone or Galaxy S2 that are rich in content and application are known to use up more data compared to feature phones like regular Nokia phones. As a general rule of thumb, the more sophisticated phones use much more data.
To better understand one’s usage, Globe advises subscribers to use this calculator to determine the best plan for their usage.
5. Is PowerSurf available to all Globe Postpaid subscribers?

Only SuperSurf 999 is considered a valid stand-alone tack-on for All-Unli Plan. All-Unli Plan subscribers may register to PowerSurf. Otherwise, My Super TXT will be the default add-on.

No, you cannot change your SuperSurf to PowerSurf since My SuperSurf Plan is designed for subscribers with unlimited surfing needs.

There is none. My SuperSurf Plan covers the 30-day SuperSurf (unlimited surfing) denomination only, which is already integrated into the main plan.
7. Will I always be allowed to register to PowerSurf?
Your PowerSurf registration will be subject to credit limit validation. Upon attempt to register via SMS or attempt of frontliner to provision via New Frontier, the system will check if the registration fee of the PowerSurf variant you are availing will still be within your credit limit:
If (Your Credit Limit) less (Your Plan MSF or Monthly Service Fee) less (Add-on Services you are currently subscribed to) is equal or greater than the add-on service fee, your registration will be accepted by the system.
For example:
- Your Credit Limit is P1,000.
- You are subscribed under Plan 299.
- You are also currently subscribed to My Super ONE (P175/30 days).
- And, you attempt to register to PowerSurf 499 (P499/30 days) via SMS.
- System will compute the following: (P1,000) – (P299) – (P175) = P526
- Since P526 > P499 fee for PowerSurf, registration will be accepted by the system.
Otherwise, if (Your Credit Limit) less (Your Plan MSF or Monthly Service Fee) less (Add-on Services you are currently subscribed to) is less than the add-on service fee, your registration will not be accepted by the system and you will receive an error SMS notification:
Sorry, your request cannot be completed because the registration fee is not within your credit limit. You may request for increase in credit limit by calling us at 211, toll-free via your Globe Mobile. You may be required to submit financial documents.
For example:
- Your Credit Limit is P1,000.
- You are subscribed under Plan 499.
- You are also currently subscribed to My Super TXT (P349/30 days).
- And, you attempt to register to PowerSurf 299 (P299/30 days) via SMS.
- System will compute the following: (P1,000) – (P499) – (P349) = P152
- Since P152 < P299 fee for Power Surf, registration will not be accepted by the system.

USAGE
1. Will I be notified upon depletion of my MB allocation?
You will be notified via SMS but within 24 hours after you consume 50% and 100% of your MB allocation. Mobile internet charging will change back to P5 for 15 minutes after full consumption. Since there is a 24 hour delay in notification, it is strongly suggested that you track your data usage so you know if you have consumed it already and if you need to upgrade to higher PowerSurf denominations.
For iPhone users:
Your phone has a built-in data counter. Each time your PowerSurf subscription is activated or autorenews, make sure to reset the data counter. Check back regularly to ensure you have not gone past your MB allocation.
Here is how to check your data usage:
- Click Settings.
- Click General.
- Click Usage.
- Check Cellular Data.
Note: The sum of Data Sent and Received is your total MB usage.
For Android users:
Since not all Android phones have a built-in data counter, you may want to visit androidmarket.com and download the app “Network Counter” free. Once installed, click Data Usage then check Cell/Mobile. The sum of Received and Transmitted is your total MB usage. You can set an alarm when you are close to hitting your allocation. Go to Cell Data Alarm then set the Alarm Trigger of your choice.
2. Can I check my remaining MB balance via SMS?
No, you cannot check your remaining MB balance via SMS. However, we are working on including this functionality for you.
3. How can I conserve my PowerSurf MB?
To conserve your MB allocation, set your phone’s notifications to Manual instead of Push or Automatic.
4. Can I register to multiple PowerSurf subscriptions at a given time?
No, you cannot accumulate PowerSurf subscriptions. You can, however, register to PowerSurf again once your earlier subscription is consumed and after opting out of the earlier PowerSurf subscription.
5. I want to increase my PowerSurf MB allocation, but I still have remaining MB from my original subscription. Is this allowed?
You will have to consume first your original MB allocation before registering to a higher PowerSurf plan.
6. I finished up the MB allocation of my PowerSurf plan. I want to get more MB of mobile internet. How do I register again?
You will have to unsubscribe first from your original PowerSurf plan before you can register again. To unsubscribe, text POWERSURF STOP to 8888. 7. I finished up the MB allocation of my PowerSurf plan. How much will I be charged for mobile internet?

NEW P999 Bill Cap
1. What is new about PowerSurf?
Globe has made a change to the billing policy of PowerSurf and implemented a P999 Bill cap for all customers that use PowerSurf. So long as you remain subscribed to PowerSurf, your total monthly GPRS spend will never be more than P999. Any data charges incurred before subscribing to PowerSurf will not be included in this policy.
2. What is the typical process when I exceed my PowerSurf Megabytes (MBs)?
You can continue to use the internet, but will be charged at your given default time- or volume-based charging rate. You will be charged for all your data usage on top of the cost of the PowerSurf promo. However, as long as you remain subscribed to PowerSurf, you will not be charged above P999 for the sum of this usage.
To check your default charging scheme, simply text STATUS to 1111.
3. If I exceeded my allocation, will the P999 Billing Cap be charged on top of my PowerSurf subscription?
All data charges incurred after subscribing to PowerSurf will fall under this cap. This means that the cost of your PowerSurf subscription will be included in the P999 total. For instance, if you were to subscribe to PowerSurf 299 and hit the billing cap, you would be charged P299 for the subscription and P700 for your additional usage after exceeding PowerSurf.
4. How will I know that I have exceeded my MBs?
Within 24 hours of exhausting all PowerSurf MBs, Globe will send you an SMS notification explaining that you have exceeded their PowerSurf subscription. It is highly recommended that you also track and manage your data usage with one of the several free applications in the iTunes Store and Android Market. Applications like NETWORK COUNTER and 3G WATCHDOG will allow you to not only track the amount of data that you use, but also set a usage limit that will cut your data connection if you have exceeded a given number of MBs.
5. How can I check the total charges I have accumulated on my bill?
Simply text PLAN UNBILLED to 2312 to see a breakdown of unbilled data charges for the month. Note that since the bill cap is applied at the end of the month, unbilled data charges that are reported via text will not reflect the P999 Bill cap. Rest assured, so long as you remain subscribed to PowerSurf, the bill cap will be applied to your account and any charges above P999 will be adjusted.
6. What is the added benefit of PowerSurf plans?
The simple benefit of aPowerSurf plan is that you can leave your data connection on and have a better handset experience without racking up an expensive bill. With bulk MB plans, you only pay for the data you use. This means that you can leaveyour data connection enabled and enjoy features like push notifications or background syncing at a much lower cost than a similar time-based offerings.
7. If I am on a 5-day/1-day variant of SuperSurf, will this cap apply to me as well?
This cap only applies to subscribers that are on PowerSurf; 1-day and 5-day varients are not included in this offer.
8. Will my mobile internet be stopped when I reached P999 worth of MB?
Once you reach P999, you will not experience any change in service. However, since this bill cap is applied at the end of the month, if your total unbilled charges exceed your credit limit, you may experience a temporary cut in service. It is highly recommended that subscribers who are heavy data users subscribe to SuperSurf to avoid any losses in service.
